...The First Vampire. The Lord of
Darkness. The Lord of the Vampires. She is not Bela Lugosi, she is
not Nosferatu, she is not a bat, she is not Vladimir Tepes III "The
Impaler" of Wallachia (now Romania). She is Ekaterina Svyatoi of Kiev
Rus, and after 100 years of slumber, she has returned to the waking
world once again.
So there's that.
The Dracula is, and has always been, a woman. For centuries she understood that
one of the purest forms of power isn't that which is taken from others,
but that which is given to her. She didn't have to take her
power from anyone; the legends, the myths, the whispers, the shadows,
the books, the shows, the movies, all of it worked to empower her
mystique, her ability, her reach, her power.
She doesn't have to take what's been given to her.
When she ascended into her power as The First Vampire, there was the
creation of an equally potent engine of Holy Destruction. This man would
be known as The First Hunter, and any number of ironic nicknames as
he lay destruction across Europe for centuries hunting her down. Only
when she was in slumber would he stop, and she only beat the system when
The New World, America, was developed enough for her to migrate. She was
too far for The First Hunter to be affected by her rise, and he lay in a
grave for centuries.
Since then, her only true opposition has been from The Hunting Party,
and the bloodline of The Belmont Clan. The former are a nuissance
at best, and are more dangerous to her organization than to her. The
latter are her historic nemesis, and while they've failed to kill her
everytime, they've been able to take away a century of her time with
each defeat.
She is aware that someone of her ancestral bloodline has survived long
enough to have been turned. She is aware she has a "Daughter".
After the tragedy that took her son away so many centuries ago, this
time will be different, her Daughter will 'grow up' to understand their
place in the world: Controlling it. Leading it. Forever.
Because The Dracula is aware that The Holy Bulldozer is back on His
Path, she will have to do her best to protect her "daughter" from his
wrath. Only her strength in the inevitable confrontation with him will
determine the fate of The Dracula, Belle, and the very species of
Vampire itself.
The Dracula is real, has returned, and
is having a very bad century already.
