is a special position within The Hunting Party,
the worldwide organization of Vampire Hunters who answer to The Front Office.
At first, the position was developed as a kind of Inquisitor role during the
beginnings of The Hunting Party's rise to fight vampires in the absence of a
Belmont in the early-mid 1000's.
As society evolved, so did its legal systems, and the old ways of the Crusades
and summary executions went out with their feudal lords. As legal systems evolved,
so did The Hunting Party, and thus was born the role of "The Litigator". He
acts as the attorney general of The Hunting Party, doing all of the leg work
in various systems of law in order to make sure The Hunting Party can continue
their quest to eradicate vampires without having all of their agents imprisoned
or sued to smithereens. Vampires learned the systems of law real well; it's
how lawyers developed the nickname 'bloodsuckers' after all.
The current Lititgator, Alexander Jagdhund, rose to this position on a major tactical coup:
He was able to ferret out a
spy in The Hunting
Party, and get him to do work on behalf of THP. This spy
was no regular vampire trying to outwit The Party, he was in fact The Second
Vampire, trying to work The Hunting Party for information on their seminal event:
The Rise of The Dracula!
Everything was going great until low level vampire hunter Simon Polidori
unwittingly caught and released a brand new vampire named Belle. A
vampire that happened to be the first living descedant of The First
Vampire, The Dracula, to be successfully turned. Her turning in the
first place was already a big enough wrench in the machinery of his
plans, but in her extremely weak, naive state Simon could've easily
finished her off, and he failed to do so.
This was going to be a problem with what The Litigator was trying to
accomplish. After 400 years, he had found where The First Hunter had
been stuck, unable to continue his single minded quest to destroy The
Dracula.
The Litigator found him in Europe, and brough him here, ready to be his
Harbinger when he rose with The Dracula.
After the risk that The Hunting Party was exposed to from Simon letting
The "Daughter of Dracula" go and grow strong, The Litigator came to
Simon personally in order to keep him from endangering anything else
with his antics.
It was during this period of 'probation' that The Litigator ran into his
own hiccup: The Dracula Clock, the mathematic formula used to predict
the Rise of Dracula, was never adjusted for the advancements in math
itself, and so they were 2 days off, missing the rise of both The
Dracula and The First Hunter.
Now, with The Litigator's personal plans in chaos, he was able to
discover the location of Belle, who was with Sydney Gilmour and Pierce
Donnegan, a vampire and vampire hunter that were in love. He dispatched
Simon to find and kill them all, even the vampire hunter Pierce, who he
said turned into a vampire vid his lover Syd.
That was a lie, and the last thing The Litigator knows of Simon is a
voice mail Polidori left notifying Alexander that he had just killed a
fully human being.
He erased the messaged after listening to it.
